Principal's Welcome to School Year 2025-2026

I am honored to serve the Carson community and all AMA students, faculty, and staff.  I come to you with 27 years of experience as an educator for the Los Angeles Unified School District, where I have been a teacher, coordinator, district administrator, and assistant principal.  In fact, I am a proud alum of LAUSD.  You have my word that I will continue to support to build partnerships with the community, increase scholarship opportunities and lay the foundation to support teachers and students to increase district goals.  We want to meet the district's goals such as having 100% attendance, proficiency for all in iReady and SBA, increase the parent and community engagement, and that every student feels safe at school.

Be assured that AMA continues to perform AMAzing in academics.  We continue to see increases in our school data such as in SBA  and iReady.  Our graduation rate continues to reflect the work that our faculty and staff put in every single day and our attendance rate has maintained to meet district goals.  AMA has also passed the WASC Mid-Cycle Review and we have become a Linked Learning School.  We are also expanding other opportunities with our partner, LA Harbor College, for our students by adding the pre-science dual enrollment pathway.

I look forward to an AMAzing  2025-2026 school year.  There is so much to be proud of but there is still more work ahead of us.  My goal is to put AMA on the map as a competitive school that provides opportunities for students to shine and excel.  With all stakeholders working together, we will maintain the momentum towards excellence.  How will this be possible?  We need to work as a family.  By working together and supporting our students, we can ensure that our students will have a successful 2025-2026 school year.  All students should pass every class with a C or better, pass every exam at proficient levels, and have a fun and safe high school experience.  Parents, I encourage you to stay informed as partners of every school activity, be familiar with your child’s class schedule, monitor grades every five weeks, and support your child with school responsibilities.  Our wonderful and dedicated teachers will continue to provide an instructional program of high achievement, multiple opportunities for students to succeed and a wide range of activities for students to be part of a club or student organization.  Students, the expectations are high, we want you to succeed and in collaboration with parents and staff as a family, it will be possible.  AMA is a school that will form strong bonds and create strong individuals prepared to give to others through the medical field or any field they choose to pursue.  Together, we will have another AMAzing school year!!
