Academy of Medical Arts - HOSA Chapter
The Academy of Medical Arts offers opportunities to students to encourage success in HOSA & medical-based environments through a challenging curriculum. We strive to shape students into empathetic and ethical future healthcare professionals well-prepared to enter their post-secondary school careers.Throughout the ‘24-’25 term AMA HOSA was powered by people! This chapter was filled with opportunities to engage with our school and community. From innovating awareness posters to serving our community during Red Ribbon Week, actively practicing HOSA’s core values, the initiative to stay involved and give back together as a chapter was truly a highlight of this term. In this website, you will get to see how AMA HOSA propelled throughout the term with the great efforts of our members and everyone we collaborated with.

AMA HOSA highlighting Cal-HOSA's Core Values

LearnWe love to LEARN here at AMA HOSA! One way we’ve practiced the core value value is attending awareness walks such as Autism Speaks and the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk. These walks provide members the chance to learn and be more open minded to the causes and health topics we walk for. As a result, we can share what we’ve learned from these walks to our friends and families!

LeadLEADing through this term at AMA HOSA! One huge way AMA HOSA led this year was hosting drives for our community! We’ve held drives for our firefighters and the church across the street. With our drives, we’ve been able to give back to our community and provide much needed support to those in need. In addition to this, we are excited to be participating in Cal-HOSA’s Guatemala Service Project again!

Serve: SERVING throughout this semester! One way AMA HOSA served this semester was by card making and giving them to our community. We’ve participated in Bundles of Gratitude and Operation Gratitude, curating thoughtful messages and cards to expectant and new mothers, deployed troops and veterans, as well as for recovering patients at the hospital. Showing our appreciation and support for people in our community can go a long way! Though it’s only small, its value and impact on the people we give them can be so much more than we can imagine.

InnovateDuring this semester, we’ve been finding ways to INNOVATE to show awareness throughout school. This year, we’ve continued opportunities for monthly poster-making! Each month, we highlight awareness for different health topics such as Cardiac Awareness, Alzheimer’s, Domestic Violence, & etc. by creating posters and posting them around campus. This has been a great way for not just HOSA members but all students at AMA to grow awareness of all different health topics!

HOSA's Leadership Conferences

Fall Leadership Conference
The Cal-HOSA Fall Leadership Conferences (FLC’s) are an opportunity for students to learn about health care careers, leadership and all things HOSA! The FLC’s include information about state officer elections held at the State Leadership Conference (SLC), Competitive Events (CE), the National Service Project, as well as a variety of pertinent workshops. Chapters who attend an FLC will bring home excited students and advisors who are motivated to develop their chapter’s Plan of Work (POW) for the upcoming Cal-HOSA year. California HOSA encourages involvement of those members enrolled in a Health Science and Medical Technology pathway, academy or program across the state, and the perfect way to start is by attending a Cal-HOSA Fall Leadership Conference (FLC) in one of the five California regions. Through this conference, members have an opportunity to gain skills in leadership through keynote speakers, workshops, and information regarding competitive events offered. The momentum is sparked at FLC as members, advisors, and industry partners come together to celebrate the possibilities and develop their leader within!

State Leadership Conference
The California HOSA – Future Health Professional State Leadership Conference will bring together future health professionals from across California to experience HOSA at its absolute best. The State Leadership Conference (SLC) is not simply a time to pick the perfect competition, prepare the skill, and hone your craft, and finally perform to possibly win a medal. This is the time when over 4,000 members, advisors, and industry partners come together for inspirational speakers, leadership workshops, professional development, career guidance, and to give it their all at this culmination of another successful California HOSA year. There is plenty to keep every attendee busy including educational symposiums, College and Career Fair, Courtesy Corps, and HOSA Village! Competitors are recognized, officers are sworn in, and scholarships are presented during the excitement-filled State Leadership Conference.  SLC is not just for the competitor; alumni and industry partners are more than welcome to be involved in various areas of California’s State Leadership Conference! Throughout the conference attendees will have the opportunity to meet many fellow California HOSA members who share dreams of changing the world.  Stand proudly and cheer your chapter, represent your school’s hard work at the state meetings, experience educational and leadership workshops, and for many attendees showcase your abilities in the California HOSA Competitive Events program.  Get ready, prepare well, do your best, and make this an experience of a lifetime.

HOSA's Service Project (NMDP)

NMDP is proud to be HOSA's Premier Service Project Partner. Since June 2020, thousands of HOSA chapters across the country have added new potential donors to the NMDP RegistrySM and pre-registry, and raised critical dollars to ensure patients can focus on healing instead of medical bills.
We're saving lives and so can you—with a donation to NMDP
NMDP is a global nonprofit leader working every day to save lives through cell therapy. Please help us reach our fundraising goal by making a tax-deductible contribution. Your gift delivers cures to patients desperate for a second chance at life. The money we raise will add new potential life-saving donors to the NMDP Registry, remove financial barriers to transplant for patients in need and fund groundbreaking research to help patients live longer, healthier lives. Are you interested in joining the registry? Learn how you could be someone's cure and request a kit to be sent to your home: https://join.nmdp.org/hosa Together, we can find cures and save lives. With NMDP, good goes a long way.
